Water Softener with Chlorine Filtration
Hardness and chlorine, handled in one tank.
The Water Softener with Chlorine Filtration is our best-selling system for Palm Beach County homes on city water: one tank that removes hardness and filters the chlorine or chloramine your utility adds, priced exactly after a free in-home water test.
This is the system most Palm Beach County homes end up with, because it deals with the two things nearly every house here has: hardness, and the chlorine or chloramine the utility has to put in to get the water to you safely. It softens by removing calcium and magnesium and filters the chlorine that causes the taste, the smell and the dry skin. Softer water on your skin and hair, no more scale building up in the plumbing, and appliances that last longer than they otherwise would.
Best for: Most homes on city water anywhere in Palm Beach County

Questions about the Water Softener with Chlorine Filtration
Anything else, call Mike on (561) 354-3095. A real person answers.
What does the Water Softener with Chlorine Filtration remove?
Two things, in one tank. USA-made high-capacity softening resin takes out the calcium and magnesium that make water hard, and a bed of granular activated coconut shell carbon filters the chlorine or chloramine your utility adds to keep the water safe on its way to you. Hardness is an aesthetic and plumbing problem rather than a health one (EPA's secondary standards list it alongside deposits and staining), and it is the reason for crusted aerators and spotted glassware. The disinfectant is behind the taste, the smell and the dry skin after a shower.
Does it handle chloramine as well as chlorine?
Yes, that is exactly what the carbon bed is for. Palm Beach County Water Utilities and several city utilities in the east of the county disinfect with chloramine, which stays in the water even if you leave a jug on the counter, so it takes a proper carbon bed to remove it. Twice a year the county switches its system to free chlorine to clean the mains, as its own annual water quality report explains, and the same carbon handles that fortnight too.
How is it different from the Whole Home Water Softener?
The Whole Home Water Softener is softening only. This system adds coconut shell carbon to the same tank, so hardness and chlorine are handled together by one piece of equipment, run by the Honest ProValve. If you would rather have the two jobs in separate, dedicated tanks, that is the City Water Dual Tank, built for larger homes. The free test at your sink shows which of the three suits your water.
How much does a water softener with chlorine filtration cost?
The free in-home water test, about 15 minutes at your kitchen sink, sets the exact price before you decide, with installation included. What moves it is how hard your water tests, the size of your home and where the tank can go. This system also pairs with a drinking water system at the kitchen tap, and our softener plus reverse osmosis package starts at $2,850 installed, with a lifetime warranty.
