Honest Water Co. of the Palm Beaches

Our story

The man who does your water test owns the company

Honest Water Co. of the Palm Beaches is Michael Battaglia’s family-owned water softener and reverse osmosis business, working out of West Palm Beach across all thirty-two communities in this county.

Meet Michael Battaglia

“I test your water in front of you, and we read the results together.”

I didn’t start out in the water business. I got into it the way most of my customers do: I wondered what was actually coming out of my own tap, and found out how few people around here could give me a straight answer. So I learned it properly, starting from the utilities’ own reports.

Here is the thing almost nobody in this county will tell you: there is no such thing as “Palm Beach County water”. Palm Beach County Water Utilities runs its eastern system on chloramine and its western system on chlorine, drawing from wells twelve hundred feet down. Seacoast runs Palm Beach Gardens and North Palm Beach largely on nanofiltration. Boca Raton softens at its own plant and publishes the number. Out in The Acreage and Loxahatchee, plenty of homes are on a well that nobody treats at all. Two houses a few miles apart are not drinking the same water.

Which means a company quoting you off a county average is guessing, and you are the one who pays for the guess. I would rather measure. I do the test myself at your kitchen sink, you read the result standing next to me, and then I tell you which system that result calls for and exactly what it costs.

We have both lived in Palm Beach County our whole lives and have worked for ourselves here for years, so this is our own community’s water we are talking about, not a territory somebody assigned us.

What we found when we started looking at this industry was a lot of theatre. Appointments that run three hours at somebody’s kitchen table. Prices that move depending on whether you look likely to say yes tonight. Equipment marked up several times over.

So Honest Water Co. of the Palm Beaches is deliberately the opposite of that. I test your water at your own sink, free, and you read the result standing next to me rather than waiting on an emailed PDF. You get one price, and it is the price: installation included, plus a lifetime warranty on the equipment.

Then I build what your result actually calls for. Sometimes that is a softener and a carbon tank in the garage. Sometimes it is reverse osmosis under the kitchen sink and nothing else. Out west it is a full well build with the iron and the sulfur dealt with first. What it is never is whichever system happens to be easiest to sell that week.

What we stand on

Three things we don’t bend on

Health and wellness first

Clean water for drinking, bathing and cooking is the whole point. Everything else is downstream of that.

Trust and transparency

We tell you what your water actually contains, what our equipment does about it, and what it costs, the real number, before you decide. We never inflate a test result to sell a bigger system than your water calls for.

Affordable protection

Good water treatment shouldn't be a luxury purchase. We price to be reachable and we don't run the high-pressure close.

Who owns Honest Water Co. PB?

Michael Battaglia, known to most customers as Mike. It is a family-owned business run out of West Palm Beach, and Mike is the one who comes to the house, tests the water and writes the quote. Call (561) 354-3095 and you reach him.

Where do you work?

Across Palm Beach County, from our office on South Rosemary Avenue in West Palm Beach. That covers all 32 communities we list, from Jupiter and Tequesta in the north to Boca Raton in the south, and out west to Wellington, The Acreage and Belle Glade.

What happens at the free water test?

Mike tests your water at your kitchen sink in about 15 minutes, and you read the result standing next to him. He explains what it shows in plain terms, which system it calls for and the exact price, all before you decide. The test is free whichever way you go.

How do you score Palm Beach County water?

With the Honest Water Score, our own rubric out of 10, built from each utility's official Consumer Confidence Report, the annual water quality report every community water system publishes under EPA rules. The county averages 6.1 across the 29 locations we can score, and homes score 9.5+ after an install.

What does a system cost, and how long does the install take?

Our softener plus reverse osmosis package starts at $2,850 installed, with a lifetime warranty. A whole-home install is usually half a day and an under-sink reverse osmosis system about two hours. We beat competitors on time to install and on service.
