Why this matters

You already know something’s off with your water

Most people don’t call us because they read a water quality report. They call because of one of these four things.

Spots on everything

Glasses come out of the dishwasher cloudy. Shower doors film over days after you clean them. That's dissolved calcium left behind when hard water evaporates.

Skin and hair feel wrong

Soap doesn't rinse off properly in hard water, so it sits on your skin. Dry, itchy skin and flat, brittle hair are the most common complaints we hear.

Your water heater is dying early

Scale builds up on the heating element and insulates it, so the heater burns more energy to do less. Hard water can take years off its life.

It tastes like a pool

Chlorine is added to keep city water safe on the way to your house. It does its job. It just doesn't taste good in coffee.

How hard is the water in Palm Beach County?

There is no single answer, and anyone who gives you one is guessing. Our water starts as groundwater in Florida limestone, which is naturally mineral-heavy, but every utility here treats it differently before it reaches you. Palm Beach County Water Utilities lime-softens, filters and reverse-osmoses at its plants. Seacoast runs Palm Beach Gardens and North Palm Beach largely on nanofiltration. Boca Raton's own utility publishes finished hardness of 65 to 80 mg/L. A private well out in The Acreage has had none of that done to it. That spread across one county is exactly why we test at your sink instead of quoting an average.

What does a whole-home system cost?

Our softener plus reverse osmosis package starts at $2,850, installed, with a lifetime warranty. A well, a bigger house or extra filtration can add to that, so the free in-home test turns it into an exact number for your home, and you get that number before you decide anything.

What's included in the $2,850 package?

A whole-home water softener, a reverse osmosis drinking water system at your kitchen sink, professional installation and a lifetime warranty. Mike tests your water at your sink first, so the system is matched to your home and you see the exact price before you decide.

Is the water test really free?

Yes, completely. It takes about 15 minutes at your kitchen sink, you see the result yourself, and it stays free whichever way you decide.

Do I need a softener, a filter, or both?

They fix different things and plenty of homes here want both. A softener takes out the calcium and magnesium that cause scale, spotting and that film on your skin. Carbon filtration takes out the chlorine or chloramine behind the taste and the smell. If you are on Palm Beach County Water Utilities' eastern system, that disinfectant is chloramine, which does not gas off if you leave a jug on the counter. It needs a proper carbon bed. On a well, iron and sulfur usually come first, and that is a genuinely different build.

Why does my water suddenly smell like a swimming pool some weeks?

If you are on Palm Beach County Water Utilities, that is very likely the changeover. Twice a year the county switches its system from chloramine to free chlorine to clean out the mains. The utility says so in its own annual water quality report. It is completely routine and the water stays safe to drink, but you can smell and taste it, and it is the fortnight our phone rings hardest. A carbon system means you stop noticing it.

My well water smells like rotten eggs. Will a softener fix it?

No, and this is the single most common mistake in this industry. That smell is hydrogen sulfide, and a softener does nothing to it. It has to be oxidised out first, which is exactly what the iron and sulfur system is built to do. If anyone quotes you a softener for a smell problem, get a second opinion.

How long does an installation take?

A whole-home system is usually a half day. An under-sink reverse osmosis system is around two hours. We clean up before we leave, and the price you agreed is the price at the end.

Are you actually local?

Yes. Michael Battaglia owns the business and runs it out of West Palm Beach. He is the one who comes to the house, tests the water and writes the quote. When you call the number on this site, you are calling him.
