Questions
Questions about the 5 Stage RO
Anything else, call Mike on (561) 354-3095. A real person answers.
Why choose a storage tank over a tankless system?
A tank keeps purified water stored and ready to draw, so it suits households that pull a lot of water at once: a big pot for pasta, several bottles in the morning, a jug for the fridge. It is the classic, proven design. If cupboard space under the sink matters more to you, the tankless HWC AlkaPro 800 is the alternative, rated at 800 gallons a day.
What do the five stages do?
They filter in sequence, finishing at a reverse osmosis membrane fine enough to strip out dissolved solids, heavy metals like lead, and the chlorine or chloramine left from disinfection. EPA's home water treatment guidance lists reverse osmosis among the methods that remove lead. The result is improved taste and clarity at a dedicated faucet: the water you drink, cook with and make coffee and ice from.
How much maintenance does the 5 Stage RO need?
Very little: it is a straightforward, reliable design that is easy to maintain. Like every home filter, the stages are replaced on the manufacturer's schedule, which is what EPA's filtration fact sheet recommends for any unit. The system carries a 1-year limited warranty.
How much does the 5 Stage RO cost?
The free in-home test sets the exact price, installation included, before you decide. Reverse osmosis is also part of our softener plus reverse osmosis package, from $2,850 installed, for homes that want soft water throughout and purified water at the kitchen tap. Tell us at the test that you prefer a storage tank, and the quote is built around it.
